Come All Ye Wild Young Cundle Lads (1900) TIN KETTLING.
The Cundletown correspondent of the M. R. Times in a recent letter attempts to bring the :"low scamps"
who indulge in this practise into line with the Churches, Good Templars, and Bands of Hope. These
institution's are legal, tinkettlers are law breakers; and any writer in defending them, may be said
"To strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel." Come all ye wild young Cundle lads,
Who love a jolly lark,
Bring out your cans, and old tin-pans
And play the Wedding March. With Churches and Good Templars,
You cow are brought in line,
And while the Cuckoo writes,
You'll have a jolly time. In days to come, at one big match,
You'll feast on cake and wine,
While "Cuckoo" from the horse bazaar
Shouts "This is very fine." NotesFrom the NSW Newspaper the Wingham Chronicle 14 Jul 1900 p. 7.
